Shechen Monastery
Shechen Monastery, one the six main Nyingma monasteries of Tibet, was destroyed in the late 1950s. In exile, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche transplanted the rich Shechen tradition to a new home – a magnificent monastery near the great Stupa of Bodhnath, Nepal. It was his wish for this monastery to maintain the philosophical, contemplative and artistic traditions of the mother monastery. Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche is the current abbot of Shechen and Changling Rinpoche teaches at the Shechen Philosophical College.

Munsong Gompa
The Munsong Retreat Center in Kalimpong, India, overlooking Sikkim, is a small quaint temple that supports six monks and two nuns as well as a few hundred devout Sikkimese and Nepalese country folk. Their senior lama, Lama Tsundru, now in his early 80’s, was a student of the previous Changling Rinpoche. The monastery was established in the 1960’s by Lama Tsundru. Changling Rinpoche teaches and guides these monks and nuns, who up until the last few months have been living in substandard conditions. See also Lotus Speech: Projects.
